Clinical Supervision
I can provide secure video conferencing supervision. Supervision services are designed to provide residents in counseling with the prerequisite skills required to function independently as a Virginia LPC.
I truly believe that good clinical supervision can make or break a clinician and I was lucky to have several supportive supervisors behind me at the beginning of my career. I am committed to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for my supervisees. I heavily focus on supporting clinicians in not only their clinical skills but also their development of a consistent and manageable self-care plan to help prevent the development of burnout, secondary traumatic stress, and related conditions.
The LPC Supervision Covers:
Individual, weekly supervision sessions
Group supervision
Feedback and guidance on counseling techniques
Review of case notes and other documentation and/or recorded client sessions, as feasible and appropriate
Phone or email consultation for emergency or time-sensitive situations or events
Mentoring for professional development, including but not limited to starting and maintaining a private practice or working in an agency.
What to expect in clinical supervision:
I offer individual and group clinical supervision for post-master’s degree counselors pursuing a license in VA as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Supervision occurs at a rate of 1 hour per 20 clinical hours, in accordance with board regulations. Supervision may be a combination of individual and group and we will typically meet on a weekly basis.
Clinical supervision location: Sessions are held online and the resident must be located in the state of Virginia using secure video conferencing during the session.
